Bars
Wrigley Field is surrounded by an endless supply of bars and a few
Bars: Wrigley Filed is surrounded by a nearly endless supply of bars.
Many of the bars do cater to the 20 something crowd, but there are plenty of places for fans who are over 30. Before and after games there is not a lot of differences in most of the places. The following is a list of a few of the better bars.
Murphy's Bleachers: Right across from the bleacher entrance. It has a lot of outdoor space and fairly bland indoor space. Food is okay. If you do not mind $5 cans of Bud and crowds. It is a fun and lively place.
Goose Island: Just south of Wrigley on Clark. A very large bar/restaurant. They brew their own beer which is pretty good. Probably the best bar to get food. They offer burgers, salads and variety of sandwiches.
Yak-Zies: North of Wrigley on Clark. The crowd tends to be a people in their 30s and 40s. More locals than other bars. Has pretty good food. Especially the wings and pizza. Cash only.
Bernie's: On Clark across from left field. Has a good deal of outdoor space. People of all ages enjoy the good grilled hot dogs and hamburgers.
Harry Caray's: Nicer than most of the places near Wrigley. Good food and a more civilized atmosphere.
Guthrie's: A 10 minute walk west of Wrigley on Addison. A fun, locals place with a good selection of beer, no food and none of the craziness of the places near the stadium.
The Wild Hare: A reggae bar just south of Wrigley on Clark. Free admission and music right after the game. Usually a lot of fun.
Sluggers: A classic sports bar with a dance floor. It can be very crowded. It is a favorite hangout of St. Louis Cardinals fans.
Restaurants: Most places to eat near Wrigley are bars, but there are a few good places to eat.
Uncommon Ground: 5 minutes north of Wrigley on Clark. Good soups, salads and a sandwiches. A lively and local crowd makes this a good place to go if you want to avoid the craziness of places closer to the stadium.
Tuscany: On Clark across from the left field line. Good Italian food in a somewhat more formal setting. The outside is a good place to watch the chaos around Wrigley.
El Jardin: A 10 minute walk south of Wrigley on Clark. Very good Mexican-American food with good margaritas and plenty of outdoor seating. The carna asada miguel is one of my favorite dishes in Chicago.
Vines on Clark: A place for people looking for a place that is a little more trendy.
